A Mist app’s hosting is billed by usage. You pay for what the app’s server and database use each day, not a fixed plan. Each app’s code repository also has a small monthly price. Fluid draws hosting from your company’s usage credits.

What you pay for

Server and database charges follow use. A busy day costs more than a quiet one. The repository price also applies to repositories Fluid creates for your themes, widget packages and portals. Repositories you own aren’t charged.

When Fluid bills

  • Fluid bills each app one full UTC day at a time, after the day ends.
  • Fluid bills only apps that were set up. An app whose setup failed isn’t billed.
  • Fluid bills hosting from a start date it sets for your company. Days before it aren’t billed.

Deleting an app stops billing

When you delete an app, billing stops from that day. The app stays restorable for 15 days, and you aren’t charged during that time. If you restore it, billing starts again. See Delete a Mist app. To stop paying for an app you no longer need, delete it.

When your credits run out

  • Your live apps keep running. Fluid never stops a running app because credits ran out. Your balance goes below zero instead.
  • You can’t create a new app until you buy more credits. Creating one fails with a 402 status and a credits_exhausted reason.
  • Mist’s AI stops until you buy more credits, if your AI is paid from credits.
Turn on Auto-reload on the Billing screen to buy credits automatically when your balance runs low.

Where to see what you spend

  • Billing: under Usage by product, Apps and hosting shows this month’s server, database and repository charges, with a forecast. See Billing.
  • AI Spend: Mist’s AI usage by day, against your company’s daily cap. See AI Spend.
To see both screens, your role needs the matching permissions. See Roles.
